AX8 posts okay. +12V, +5V, and +3.3V are 0.1V ABOVE ideal values.
Mitsumi floppy drive connected and detected by BIOS. Green light comes on when accessing drive.
NEW unformatted 160GB Seagate SATA HDD connected to SATA1 port and detected when hit TAB key at the ABIT logo during boot under VIA TECH RAID BIOS UTILITY. DEV=Ctrl1. POSI=Chnl 0 master. DRIVE NAME=ST3160827AS. Make=SATA. SIZE=149GB.
NEC 3520 DVD burner connected as MASTER on secondary IDE and detected by BIOS.
PCI-E video card connected to motherboard and detected by BIOS.
BIOS SETTINGS:
Under ADVANCED BIOS, 1st boot is CD ROM, 2nd boot is HDD, and 3rd boot is floppy drive.
Under STANDARD CMOS, IDE CHANNEL 1 master=none and slave=none, IDE CHANNEL 2 master=optical drive and slave=none.
Under INTEGRATED PERIPHERALS\ONBOARD PCI DEVICES, I attempted to load windows XP with ONBOARD RAID ROM set to "ENABLED" and also "DISABLED".
When I rebooted with the WXP Pro SP2 CD ROM and the SATA floppy in the 3.5" drive, the PC started to load data from the CD ROM. At the blue screen, I clicked F6. Then I saw "press S to specify special disk controllers for windows" and "press ENTER if don't want to specify additional mass storage devices for use with windows".
I tested both options. With the S option, window attempted to access the data in the SATA factory floppy (green light) but could not locate the drivers. With the ENTER option, I eventually ended up with the "SET UP DID NOT FIND ANY HARD DISK DRIVES INSTALLED IN YOUR COMPUTER, SET UP CANNOT CONTINUE" screen. I also get this message if I do not hit F6 at the blue screen.
Am I missing something?
