AX7 + enermax fan for cpu? HELP

I just had to RMA my motherboard for repair,
so I figured it would be a good time to update the cooling
system in it to quiet it down.

I have an epox 8k7a motherboard w/ athlon 1.4 tbird.
the power supply is a Sparkle 300w.

Here are my plans:
1- replace the fan in the sparkle with a panaflo L1A
Q: The PS Fan was rated at 33cfm, but the panaflo is 24cfm... is this ok?

2- replace the front case fan with another L1A (should be fine)

3- for the HSF, I was going to use an AX7 combined with an enermax variable
speed fan.
Q: For the enermax fan, is it safe to use the 3-pin connector on the motherboard? or
will this be too much power? Should I use the 4-pin adapter instead?

Otherwise, I could just use the Vantec Stealth fan (rated at 27cfm) - if it would provide
adequate cooling.

Please send suggestions! I'm most concerned about the enermax fan being powered by
the motherboard!
