how well does this combination work? my friends with the 8k3a say it's a pretty tight squeeze.

It should work just fine I have had that heatsink on 2 Epox boards with no problem, It is a great heatsink too bad they are nor making them any more.

The fit is kind of tight but it should fit right in.
