AX51 headset need soundcard?

It is way past due for me to experience good sound. I have narrowed my search down to the ax51 and am wondering if I will get a great 5.1 experience out of these without a soundcard. I have a p5w dh deluxe board so it had the connectors but I don't know if I should go for a sound card for extra quality?

Getting "5.1" out of headphones is more or less an impossibility. If you want great sound from cans, consider Beyerdynamic, AKG, or Sennheiser.

I was extremely skeptical at first to but I read many review on this where guys say that you can really tell where people are coming from.
