If they were true audio purists they wouldnt be listening to music or watching movies on a computer anyway. They would probably have a $2000 DVD played running through a $200 optical cable into a $5000 THX certified 600W amplifier which powers speakers more expensive than my car hehe

Seems more like a motherboard designed to fill a little niche in the market.....how many people are in the niche i dunno!

Incorrect. A true audio purist would be running a $2000 turntable playing through $200 premium analog cables into a $5000 tube preamp/amp setup (not THX certified) that may not put out anything close to 600W, which powers speakers more expensive than your car.
