AX-7, AX-7. What about the AX-478?!

Well, I got one of these because they say that the AX-7 performs really well with Athlons and it is the same design fitted for Socket-478. Anyone have any experiences with these? Installation problems or ease, increase/decrease over stock Intel HSF, or just plain any comment on it. I bought one, it is sitting three feet next to me so I'm not really going to fool around with the stock HSF on my new 1.6a before putting the AX-478 on, so I'll have nothing to compare it with. Anyway, someone compare, maybe since I didn't go with Alpha, I still got a good heatsink.
PS: Um, this thing looks really tight. (Gooo clear case side-panels)
PPS: I have a Vantec Tornado 80mm, so don't say "it depends on your fan." I'd probably rival a weedwhacker on top of my heatsink in noise.
 
I picked up a pair of AX478's a couple of weeks ago, and I like them. The 2 mounting clips utilize the oem cpu bracket, and the ability to use an 80mm fan is a superb feature. The heatsink is pretty heavy, but no worries about crushing the core since there is a heatspreader. 😉 I only bought them since the retail fans on my p4's were making a slightly unusual noise.
 
i have had alot of HSFs and i have to say that the ax7 ax-478 r the best pound-for-pound. i have 3 ax-7's, 1 on my (XP 1800+, Epox 8kha+) which gives me temps in the 35c range. the other 2 ax7's are on my (DUALIE MP 1800+, Tyan Tiger MPX) which give me temps in the 39- 42c range. the ax-478 is in my sig. and i get temps in the 28 - 32c range.

granted these hsf r a little big but damn if they don't perform. i put 80mm Panaflo Highs on all of them and the sound is ... did u hear that? in case u didn't hear me its cuz its quiet 😀 i wood recommend this hsf to anyone and everyone. i currently have 3 sk6's and my crappy :disgust: volcano 7+ :disgust: ... can't believe i spent $45 on that piece o' sh!t... ThermalTake-u-2-the-cleaners... anyway, the ax-478 is way better than the retail p4 cooler, sorry for the (ENERGIZER BUNNY) keeps going... and going... and going... 😀
