When times get tough, true character comes to light. Evidently it's more important for Dean to win than it is to pay the little guy.

LOL suckers!!!

Sounds like he's not going to air any ads this week either. Money must be a bit tight. The tactic of saving up for after this first wave might actually work....but it'll depend on dean getting back in tune with democrats who vote.

While I'm surprised that Dean out of all the candidates is having financial problems. I don't see anything evil about him asking his staff to work for free. You see, you Bushies may not understand this but his staff works for a good cause, not a good dollar. It does suck that they'll have a bit extra hardship but I doubt they're on the verge of mutiny.

Where does he ask them to work for free? I see him asking those working for him to wait a couple weeks, but nothing about free. Maybe I missed something, but that is what it reads like to me.

No one said it was "evil" :p and also no one has even hinted at a mutiny:p
Trying to box your own shadow?

dean's supposed financial problems are only speculation at this point because they won't release the figures, but with him "asking" staff to "defer" two weeks pay and he's not going to air ads - it sure looks like he doesn't have the funds to mount a 7 state attack this time around. IMO, if he really is concerned about his finances - these moves are probably for the best. dean did pump alot of $$$ into Iowa here and also spent a load in N.H. but got little results. 2nd and 3rd don't cut it when you outspend your rivals.

Oh, and I wonder if he's got the ~$950 sent off to the deli yet;)

One wonders what this means for the deli/caterer owner in Iowa who was stiffed by Dean. I'm thinking that he's probably not gonna get paid either.........

[edit] Ha! CKG, looks like we're on the same wavelength! I'm just a bit slower this morning, coffee is kinda weak I guess. :D

If you think they're gonna "eventually" get paid, I've got a bridge for sale........

I believe the primaries are done shortly. Unless something miraculous happens, Dean's campaign won't last another couple weeks. Nobody's gonna get paid, they are working for free.

Golly, I don't know much about Dean but what tiny bit I've seen gave me the impression he is a vastly more developed human being than Bush. You would sware that the standards people use to pick their candidates don't relate at all to to seeing. Maybe people are running a program.

Well, at least we know this will never happen to Bush with massive corporations backing/owning/running him.

Give me some examples of how Dean is FAR left. He's a fiscal conservative (has actually balanced budgets), for state-control gun control (not federal), etc..

The right just keeps saying HE'S FAR LEFT and yet most of what he stands for is pretty moderate left.

So make me believe he's far left; unless you have no proof and were hoping no one would call you out on it.

Hysterical, a website full of Iowa Dean speech re-mixes.

Which would you rather have, Soldier Boy landing on Carriers or Weapons of Mass Dean?

I think Dave might be rubbing off on you guys. First Mill and his cold snap thread, and now Corn accusing Dean of saying something he didn't. Damn Dave, you giving everyone cooties, or what? Next thing you know CAD will start posting John Q Public's letters to the local paper.

Didn't Bush balance budgets in Texas?

no, he cut taxes, leading to defecits. He got plenty of practice in texas.

The budget WAS BALANCED, under Bush, Texas didnt start running defecits until late 2001, and 2002. Cutting taxes in Texas would NOT have caused defiects if Sept 11 didnt happen. Texas was running along fine, then Sept 11 happened, and defiects started running up, mainly due to Texas govt only in session Jan-May in odd years. The budget for Jan 01-Dec 02 was already done when Sept 11 happened, and Texas was pretty much locked into it until Jan 2003.

He raised a hell of alot of money but only has $5million left.... Hes SOL if he doesnt win a couple of states next Tuesday. I know his campaign is going for delegetes and not wins, but wins are what brings in the donors.

You do know how campaign contributions work right?

I also might add, the republicans have been beating the democrats in terms of HARD MONEY, so its not just soft money going into republican/bush coffers.

I also might add, as a whole the democrats have just as many massive corporations donating tens of millions of dollars to the democrats.
