I was thinking "I wonder how infrequent ads paid the bills". Now I see that its not truly free. Its a great service though. I gotta think about it before I put down money for pandora one. But I may not just do that. I might pay a dollar each month to keep listening. I listen mainly at work, and a dollar is totally worth it. I don't need high quality music either since its coming from a laptop speaker setup lol

Anyone pay for/have pandora? I was thinking that a pandora sub + streaming via internet phone must be awesome assuming the carrier is fast enough.

I use it at work also, and was bummed out when I hit the limit a couple of months ago. I like the service a lot, and I don't mind paying for something I get value from, so I paid for it.

It is, but so is 12 dollars a year when you don't need the cherry on top that pandora one provides. You already have a fucking great cake.

Just bummed that there was a limit, but I'll be paying an extra 99 cents for unlimited streaming for the month

Desktop app with no ads, unlimited skips, and higher audio quality is more than just a cherry on top. Plus you don't have to spend time paying $.99 every month.

If it is for you, then I'm glad you enjoy it! Its nice to have a service where people agree that its worth it.
I think the product is great no matter how you slice it, but for my purposes and the environment it is being used in, the benefits of pandora one are somewhat muffled for me. I don't cycle through music at all (I'm one of those guys that never hit the 'next' button), and a few minutes each month filling in new information doesn't bother me.

Its just a different attitude, which is probably why they have different levels of service to offer to satisfy us both.

I'm glad we can both agree Pandora is awesome.

That's $3 per month, or 10¢ per day. You can probably find that on the ground on the way into work ;^)

I must have missed this... ?

The new Zune 4.0 software includes something called "Smart DJ", its essentially Pandora - you tell it an artist, and it makes a playlist based on stuff from the Marketplace (not just your collection).

You can also make a "mix" of songs from random people on Zune Social and/or play songs straight from zune.net.

I'm not sure how much of this requires a Zune Pass subscription. I already had one.
