I dont have a problem with the awp its the follow up deagle that bugs me. Besides pubs a sniper is never alone and even if you are close enough and the awper misses once with the awp they won't miss the 1-2 deagle shot. Even if you manage to kill the awper the other teamate is right on top of you.

Meh, I hate Counter-Strike period. No matter what I do almost everyone slaughters me, although oddly enough I usually score high on Day of Defeat.

Who the heck thinks awp is hard to learn? anytime some nub bitch is awpin I just start, kill him and 3 or 4 others, then say (I have it bound)
"OMG TEH L337 AWPZOR!" over and over until they stop awping.

YOU GOT LATED

I stopped for a few reasons (online fps), bunny hopping (sorry fuzzybunny 😀), spawn camping and racsim. I have thick skin, and most of the stuff isn't targeted to me, but it's non stop.
I have some fond memories of COD 2. I normally suck, 1 kill for every 7 deaths.
But this one time, I was racking up kills like nothing else...and not noticing the chatter. When it was over I noticed it wasn't English...it was French!!! I got booted without me saying a word.
The French suck in the virtual world as well. 😉

Find a game from this decade?

I believe Counterstrike: Source was released in November of 2004.

I believe you failed to mention source in the OP, cockpouch.

Regardless, you can't argue with how many people still play the game! Look at all these posts! :Q

Flashbang+smoke bomb=dead awper

Lots of times you only need the flashbang since awpers usually just sit and camp in one spot round after round.

AWP is too lame. Real men use the Scout. AWP should have been left out of the game, if you really have any skill you should have no problem using the Scout. Any idiot can use an AWP (even me) which i why i don't like it, and partly why i don't like CS.

While i dissagree that a 1 hit kill from awp is something wrong, I do think the other guns do need to be a bit more powerful.

It's kinda ridiculous that it takes 4 chest shots sometimes with an AK47 to kill someone.

Or don't you just love those 86 damage headshots with the M4? I'm sorry but there is no helmet that is gonna save you from that.

I miss (sort of) being good at CS/various other FPS. Nothing more humbling to a nerd/former nerd than loading up an old game he used to rock ass in and get owned by a bunch of guys who sound like their nuts haven't dropped.

Philippine Mango plays CS: Source?

So true I remember back in the day I was pretty good. I'd stay up all night drinking Mountain Dew to hone my twitch reflexes. 🙂 . If I get on now and try to play I get owned by everybody.

I've joined servers where the winning team is awp-whoring, and every time, I get a scout and kick their asses. They learn their lesson, and justice has been delivered.

The reason that everyone gets owned in CS:S is simply this:

The games default settings are sh!t. Everyone who is good at that game re-writes their .cfg files to have much better reg in the proper hit boxes. It's not detected by VAC as a cheat unless you write the .cfg to astronomical levels. There are "acceptable" ways to change it. I have watched people change their .cfg file and become instantaneously better.

It's amazing the lengths some people go to feel like the top cyberathlete.

I'm not bothered by the AWP, just don't go out in the open and don't do anything stupid and you won't get killed.

Plus, AWPers usually make good nife targets.

You don't like the AWP because you can't comprehend it's complexity.

It's a fact, people don't like what they can't understand.

what i don't get is when 2 snipers shoot each other almost at the same time, why don't they both die?

Saw someone doing that in my regular DOD:S server and that server has a group of regulars and when this new guy came on and was just owning the sh!t out of everyone on this server that had some d@mn good players, myself included we figured something was up....finally after repeated questions the admin froze his player in place on the map and thats when he fessed to screwing with his .cfg files....30 seconds later he was permabanned.

That's not true at all. I love automatic transmissions.

What rifle is the "AWP" supposed to be based off of anyway?
It's the Accuracy International Arctic Warfare Magnum (AWM). It's one of the world's finest and most expensive sniper rifles, and is a true "one shot one kill" weapon. Muzzle velocities can exceed 3,000 ft/s (depending on ammunition) with an accurate range of well over a mile.
