I had one calling me regularly when I was about 13. After a bunch of calls, it became clear he just had a wrong number. I never answered his calls but apparently he thought my number was for some girl he knew and the last one I heard he was begging her to pick him up since he was getting out. Sometimes the guys will just call random numbers looking for someone to talk to.

Jails and prisons make booty on those collect calls. They charge like $1.25 per minute...or more.

I've seen 'County Jail' on my caller id a few times....and gotten a message about accepting a collect call from the jail....but never heard the loser's voice
