Awesome, Tmobile has lost my contract??!

I opened up my T-mobile account October 2003, not even one year ago. I started the account with one of those crazy Amazon.com deals with a 2 year contract. I called T-mobile today with a question about my service, and at the end of the call I inquired about the status of my contracts (my phone and my g/f's phone)

The girl was like "Well, neither phone is under contract. It looks like your contracts were cancelled on October 2003." I did a double take and was like "Soooo you're saying I could call in today and cancel and I wouldn't be charged a fee?"

"No sir, your contact expired in Oct. of 03."

Haha, I thought for sure she was just a new agent and was reading my start date instead of my end date... so I hung up and called again to get a different agent. I asked the new woman for a status of my contract and she said it neither of my phone #'s had a contract!!!

I really like T-mobile so I'm not even considering cancelling, but it is nice knowing that I am not bound by a contract... I thought I had another 13 months left on it.

Good for you! BTW, I did notice some of the great deals Amazon had with T-Mobile. I could have gotten my two phones for free had I gone through Amazon, but I did not know it was a two-year contract. Did your phone purchase(s) come with Amazon rebates in addition to T-Mobile rebates?

hah, on my cingular number from my family plan, i have -98 months left on my contract. i'm supposed to have 24 months, but oh well.
