Well I would go look on CNN or ABC, but according to some people they might "misrepresent" the speech because they're a "liberal media organization" :Q
He hasn't said anything of significance yet. Not that Clinton's speeches were profound but you can't call this one great since all he's said is I'm going to increase spending and cut taxes. it's not like that's going to get a boo.
I just wish democrats would actually listen to his words instead of assuming everything he's saying is an outright lie. I had that same problem myself hearing Clinton speak -- I never, ever took anything Clinton said at face value and assumed just about all of that was B.S. In hindsight I wish it woulda been some other democrat president instead of Slick Wily.
For those liberals out there: we are being overtaxed and he wants to reduce taxes and cut the rate of spending increases. What the !@#$ do you find wrong with that?!! This is a capitalist country where the government shouldn't be playing god by spending my money.
"We are going to pay down the debt." *Applause*
How about explaining on how you figure on cutting taxes, paying the military personel more, increasing our defense system/size, paying individuals to invest in their own retirement, funding school vouchers, etc... And pay down debt at the same time.
<< GW Bush is really an excellent speaker and his conservative ideas are a refreshing change from Clinton's! His speech is great so far. >>
Lemme rephrase that for you.
GW Bush is really a Republican, and afterall, if a democrat in the white house was a sex offender, we must reject everything he did. His speech is really typical so far for the first address as president (but you see its not Clinton, and me being a Republican that makes it automatically great for all who voted against the democrats).
I was not referring to the fact that Mr. Clinton deserves to be thrown in jail for the remainder of his miserable existence.
I was referring to the fact that liberals feel the government is the answer to everyone?s problems. I do not care if you are a Democrat or Republican; that is not the issue here.
Democrats would hate whichever Republican was elected, and Republicans would hate any Democrat that was elected.
I prefer to look at each issue.
I'm all for cutting taxes, and reducing government. However you cannot have a balanced budget (let alone a surplus to cut the debt) by cutting taxes AND increasing spending.
I haven't heard a single thing to disagree with. Screw that. No entertainment value. I'd rather have all the Democrats against the tax cut step up to the podium right now and explain why. Now THAT would be interesting. I'll be paying more attention to their rebuttal after this address...
