Awesome SCUBA Video

GasX

Lifer
Most videos you see of SCUBA divers are taken in pretty tropical settings and have annoying island music in the background. The camera switches between fish close-ups and divers waving at the camera... BORING!

I found one of a wreck dive with a cool soundtraCK (ANYONE KNOW THIS SONG?) and the divers are anything but boring:

1. They have scooters - which is about the coolest thing you can have
2. They are so deep they have to carry about 6 tanks for their decompression obligations (about an hour for every 20 minutes of bottom time)
3. The get to do fly bys over a sunken warship

ULTRAMARINE: AN AQUATIC ODYSSEY (7.9MB) - It's a teaser of a full length video available on that site.

ok, so noone cares about the video. Your loss... 😉

I would be appreciative is anyone could identify the music in the video though!!

LINKIN PARK - "IT'S GOING DOWN (CON EXECUTIONERS)"
ÁLBUM: EXTRA TRACKS

I knew I was being threatened
Do you think its worth holding out?
I mean ive heard some pretty ugly things
About those guys, ugly stories

Watch them flee
Watch them flee
Rap up
Watch them flee
Hip-hop hits
And u do it like this

Its going down
The rhythm projects 'round the next sound relfects
The complex hybrid dialect now detect the mesh of many elements
Compressed down
The melting pot of a super futeresque style
The combination of vocal care ness with lungs that gasp for breath from
Emotional stress, and a distorted collage
Carefully lodged between beats of rhythmic barrage

Its goin down the local progression on the time line
The seperation narrowed down to a fine line to blur the edges so they
Blend to gether properly
Take you on an audible odyssey a logical progression on the time line
The seperation narrowed down to a fine line to blur
The edges so they blend to gether properly, take you on an audible
Odyssey, now its going down

Put put put it up
I said it goes lyk this
And u do it lyk this its goin down
Put put it up
It said it go go goes lyk dis
And u do it lyk this its goin down

Once again it is composed sentences together all venomous,
The four elements of natural force. Projected daily thru the
Sound of the blend, the sword with tha pen, the mightiest chin.
The elevate of mental states long gone with tha wind,
To defend men for shoddy imatation pretends.
Its goin down, Stallence emulation readily,
Trekking through the weaponry of the pure pedigree,
Cleverly seeing thru what
Ever is ahead of me, What ever tha weather be,
We invent the steadily, Its goin down to sub-terrestrial high, I rhyme
Regiment thats callin tha shots, execution of collaborative plots,
Ready to bring the seperation of style to a stop

Its goin down the local progression on the time line
The seperation narrowed down to a fine line to blur the edges so they
Blend to gether properly
Take you on an audible odyssey a logical progression on the time line
The seperation narrowed down to a fine line to blur
The edges so they blend to gether properly, take you on an audible
Odyssey, now its going down

Put put put it up it said it goes like this,
And you do it lyk dis, Its goin down
Put Put it up It said it goes lyk dis
And you do it lyk dis.
Its goin down

X-men bout to blast or world wide
Yo its request only
X-men bout to blast of world wide
Its built from scratch
Album in stores soon, bout to blast of world wide
And u do it lyk dis

Its goin down
Put put put it up
It said it goes lyk dis and u do it lyk dis
Its goin down , put put
It up it said it goes lyk dis
And you do it lyk dis
Its goin down
Like dis.....

Your blood absorbs a whole mess of nitrogen while you are under pressure at depth especially at the depths these guys are at. In order for your body not to act like a suddenly opened soda bottle when you come back up, you have to decompress - i.e. make long stops at various depths on the way up. Having extra oxygen in your tank speeds the process (air is 21% O2), but O2 is toxic at high partial pressures, so the have different mixes for different depths. Between the requirements for having enough gas to last for all the deco stops and all the different mixes, they carry as many as 5 tanks on 1 dive - for about 20-30 minutes on the bottom and 1-2 hours of deco...

Still, that's a LOT of air. The most I've ever carried is 3 tanks.

Well at 210ft, the pressure ~7 ATM so each breath of air is equal to 7 breaths of air at the surface. You use up your gas REAL fast down there...

Good video.
Though I'm VERY surprised it shows them lifting a piece of equipment (looks to be the engine controls) for recovery.
Most, if not ALL sunken war ships are considered war memorials and or tombs and taking anything from them is a NO-NO. I hope they are underwater archaeologists ,and or they had permission to do so.

Yah, I agree. It looks like the control they use to signal speed to the engine room.
