The Legue of Extrodinary Gentlemen

First impressions so far are beyond wow! Plus as an added bonus, it's got Sean Connery in it! :D Woohoo!

Not sure about the rest of the actors but the movie looks awesome and very action packed. Excellent special effects too. Plus the storyline looks like it complements the action and vice versa rather than the action covering for a weak or non-existant story.

I think this will be an awesome movie. In fact I'm gonna toss it on my list of "Must see movies" for this summer. :)

League of Extraordinary Gentlemen is a comic mini-series from quite a few years ago which I never read. The author is the critically acclaimed (at least in comics) Alan Moore. Best known (to the extent that he's known at all) for his Watchmen series.
I think I'd like to read the comics before going, Moore is a great writer for this type of stuff.

Actually, I seriously do think that Moore did write a good script for this movie. I can't see him writing something shoddy and being willing to let it be made into a movie. He would have put a lot of thought into this movie when he wrote it. I just hope hollywood didn't soil it too much with their stupidity. :)

The Watcher was written very well. Has to be better than that Spiderman-copy of a movie called Daredevil. Wasted $5 on it.

They've been filming this for a LONG time now . . . I first heard about it a couple of years ago.

This movie will never do well at the box office because the majority of Americans will barely recognize 50% of the characters, if that.

Sure they will be able to recognize Tom Sawyer, The Invisible man, and Dr. J/ Dr. H. But they have no idea who Allan Quartermain, Mina Harker, Captain Nemo, or Dorian Gray are.

You would actually have to read a book to find out who those people are. That's just too much for Joe Sixpack.

That's BS, man. No offense, but I think you are understimating Average Joe.

Lots of people have read Jules Verne, as well as Stoker. Richard Chamberlain played Allan Quartermain in a pretty popular cult film. I think people may have trouble knowing who Dorian Grey was, but the other three are not a big deal, IMO.

I take it you have never seen Jay Walking on the Tonight show:

That's the Average Joe. And no, they haven't read Jules Verne nor Stoker. Dr. Suess is a better bet.

You realize the people on Jay Walking are coaxed into giving wrong answers, right?

Anyhow, this movie will ROCK. The comic is INCREDIBLE.

I'm tired of these types of movies. There doesn't seem to be much intelligence coming out of Hollywood nowadays. Come to think of it, there never was.

What crawled up your arse?

This is a great idea for a movie. Glad to see some of the creativity we saw in years past finally hit the big screen, which IMO is the best way to reach the mainstream!
