Well I started my low-fat high protein diet again & decided to try something new. Instead of plain egg whites I scrambled them with two slices of fat-free cheese. Had them with two slices of toasted potatoe bread w/rasberry jam. Delicious! Washed it down with skim milk.

I'm not on a low carb diet, but I picked up some sausage at the store the other day and it had a low carb recipe on the back that sounded so good, I had to try it. If you can find chicken-apple sausage, I highly recommend trying it.

Here's how it goes:

1 pkg (4 links) chicken apple sausage
1 med yellow onion
1/2 bottle beer (I used Brooklyn IPA, I suggest a similar PA)
1 jar/pkg sauerkraut
1 cup chicken broth
pinch caraway seeds
1 bayleaf

slice sausage and onions, begin sauteeing onions over high heat in a large, deep nonstick pan.
when onions are beginning to brown, add beer. cook until onions are tan and soft and beer has cooked down to thick sauce. Add sliced sausage. cook until slightly browned. add saurkraut, chicken broth, bay leaf, and caraway seeds. cook 15 minutes at med-high heat or until there is ~1/2 in liquid in pan.

serve with a light green salad.

AS of yesterday I had to go back on a diet. I used slimfast about 8 months ago to lose 40 pounds. It worked great. But this time i feel it is going to be difficult to quit eating two meals a day. I have gained back 9 pounds over the past few months and hate the way i look. IM setting a respective goal of another 25 pounds. I am as i sitm after dinner, clothed 202 pounds. I am 5'11 and of moderate build. I was thinking of trying a protein diet but am not sure because you are supposed to completely cut out carbs i thought? Anyone have any recomendations on weight loss techniques. I am a very avid calorie counter...just as of lately have been cheating. I eat a lot of low fat soups such as tomato and vegetable, replace junk with salads and low fat dressing as night time snacks. Unfortunately since i no longer play rugby my exercise is limited. Although come september i have to bike 45 minutes to school one way per day. A god start. I plan on starting weight training this week.
