Awesome Left 4 Dead 2 mods, custom campaigns & maps (Get more outta the game)

If you never have installed custom content before then in Steam under Library where it says all games click on it and select Tools. Then install Left 4 Dead 2 add-on support.

Now just install all custom campaigns and mods to c: \program files (x86)\steam\steamapps\common\left4dead2\left4dead2\addons

As far as I know the best site for custom campaigns and mods are http://www.l4dmaps.com

Really suggest making a free account and using the VPKme download site as it seems to provide the fastest speed. With an account you won't have to type in captcha codes every time before a download.

Before you download a campaign or mod check the version of it. If it's complete or final it's good.

You can also click on Filter and where it says Date click on it and select Rating and click save to view the highest rated campaigns and mods and such.

There is also http://www.l4dmods.com I haven't checked it out as much until the downloads are back online.

Once L4D2 is loaded you just select play campaign and play online and find games with custom campaigns or open the console (Goto keyboard settings in game and enable developer console) by pressing ~ in game and type in openserverbrowser and press enter.

Then click on custom to get a complete list of servers and find ones with custom campaigns and such. Even add servers to favorites. However having 3 extra buddies might be easier.

In the main menu you can click on extras & add-ons if you need to disable any of the add-ons or just delete them from the add-ons folder.

Since no one really plays L4D1 it would nice if there was a classic mode or maybe a mutation that takes away the extra L4D2 stuff and makes it like L4D1. Maybe offer the option to include the L4D2 specials. I wonder if that already exists? Or just a way to remove Melee weapons. Wouldn't mind playing without Melee weapons at least.

If you have Rayman1103's Mutation Mod. Under all Mutations, Custom Campaign Mutations Two.

Try Crowd Control mode. Then select Crowd Control Custom Match settings if you can't find any servers and select Create a Game Lobby then edit settings and select either best available dedicated or local server.

Wanna test your Zombie killing skills? It's just swarms of Zombies and if they touch you a few times your out. It's pretty fun. Try it out with your Zombie killin friends.

Post any other cool game modes you try out.

Insanity mode is awesome too. Realism with quiet zombies (You can hear there feet) and it's foggy.

Also the Classic Modes remove the L4D2 stuff to make it like L4D1 which is great.
