Awesome! EVGA 6800 GT & New Computer! (how to tweak it)

Hello Everybody,

I just finished building my first computer using MechBgon's guide. Check out my signature for all the specs. Here are the some of the changes I made:

Amd 1700+ to Amd 64 3800+
ATI 8500 DV to EVGA Nvida 6800 GT
756 Mb 266 Mhz DDR to 2 Gb 400 Mhz DDR
60 Gb 5400 rpm to 200 Gb 7200 rpm

I game at 1600 x 1200 because I have a Samsung 213T monitor I was not able to run the far cry demo before at 800 x 600 and it was unplayable (bogged down). Now the game seems to run seemlessly at 1600 x 1200 with medium AA & AS and all detail on ultra high!!!

Question:
Is the cool bits registry tweaking the only way to overclock an Nvidia card? (first Nvidia card). Is it pretty easy to use?

How do I measure frames per second to know what level I'm playing at?

Cooling should be good, I have 6 case fans

Powerstrip will let you OC your new 6800GT.

Thank you for the congrats and the links. I will download them tonight (when I get home) Far Cry is an awesome game (I am on the carrier level, downing the helicopter now)!!!

I will in the future... Unfortunately it may be a while. I was holding out for the SLI thing & new 90 nm AMD chips but... my old systems motherboard died (bad capacitors). I am very happy with my new rig but, my old one has to be rebuilt

I had a quantum leap upgrade from my old system. For my first Nvidia card, this is an awesome one! Ejoy. I was holding out for a Powercolor X800 XT but, they're not to be found anywhere With the step up at EVGA you can't go wrong!
