Did you guys know that when white men first came to the Americas elderly indian men told them that their parents remembered giant eagles that used to attack buffalo herds, twice as big then the biggest eagles you see nowadays, they also used to swoop down and lift off human children.

The way I heard it was that the buffalo themselves had wings, but that the eagles overcame this by attaching frickin laser beams to their sharp talons.

they called them thunderbirds. last recorded sightings was possibly late 1700's. There are bones and what not found...even old pictures from the 1800's but its really hard to tell whats fake and what isnt, what stories were fake or true.
Stories persist to this day, however many mistake them for certain condors with wing spans measuring 12' ft, their often seen at distances and people will say they were 20' ft.

lots of info on the web, but don't believe the stories and i'd say most all pics are fake, but they did exist at one time.

Careful, someone here will probably try to shoot it. 😀 Beautiful bird and beautiful picture.
