p.s. Yes, they are being recalled because the scooters, and their riders, leave such nasty stains on the road after being ran over by those 18 wheeler big rigs! The truckers are getting really pissed off due to the mess left on the blood ... ooops... mud flaps and I can't blame them!

In my experience, these scooters are safer than rollerblades. If you lose your balance or hit a pothole with the scooter, you can just jump off. No such escape route with rollerblades.

I've used both and that is my opinion.

However... I can see that since the scooter is "easier" to use... people are likely to do riskier things before they've learned how to recover from potholes, etc.

These things are fun, but I think they are about 30 times the danger factor that rollerblades are. I about cracked my head open trying to jump on one of these things. They like to fly out from under you when you jump Buy at your own risk. Just DON'T be one of those little sissies who SUES the company because "your scooter is dangerous." I will kick your butt personally if you sue for your own stupidity.

I think another reason they're still there is because nobody bothers checking out the DOTD anymore. Man, they've been on a cold streak.

Frankly, they're offering the kind of "deals" you see from a company who can't get concessions from their suppliers anymore. Not a good sign.
