Took a gamble on a poorly reviewed Samsung BD-D5500 blu ray player ($59 refurb!)

Blurays look great but here's the killer - Samsung Hub:

Hulu

The reviews are very mixed but my gamble was right - the negative reviews came from people who must not know how to do firmware updates.

Plus tons more. I'm thinking my appleTV will be making the move to the bedroom because this supports much more and for nearly half the price (plus bluray!). Grab it

Not bad at all. I'd say 30 seconds to load a bluray. Only have one bluray to test but I was able to skip previews and nag screens, which I didn't think was possible without hacking. The net features are as fast as most connected devices (slower than my roku and apple tv, faster than my tivo, and about the same speed as a ps3), and networked mkvs load up within seconds via plex.

Plex is the killer feature here- can stream almost all video formats and mp3s as well. It's stellar, the video app selection rivals roku as well.
