Awaiting Clarkdale

im trying to prepare a new build for clarksdale. right now i am searching for a board to start off.

anyone know what we can expect thermally out of it stock? or at a reasonable OC? i wonder how much heat clarkdale puts out relative to the wolfdale/yorkfield series.

what kind of common OC frequency can we expect (heavily) air cooled? and what fsb/dram frequencies do we need to get to get a good, feasible OC?

Fortunately for you I have this information strait from intel:

And you need DDR3-1472 for a good, feasible overclock

Oh crap, its Clarkdale not Clarksdale. I feel stupid.

Why don't you guys wait until Clarkdale is actually out before you start buying stuff for it?

I wonder how much lower multipliers will affect Clarkdale overclocks?

If thermals are really that good then maybe the Core i5 dual cores will fair better with Tower coolers.

Also, can you put a Clarkdale in a P55 board? What about the on-board graphics? Pin-outs are okay? I was always wondering this...

clarksdale will work in a p55 only with external (dedicated) graphics. the H57 will allow you to use the integrated graphics on the chip.

as far as OC potential, it has been said that p55 will take the clarkdale to higher speeds than the H57.

I like to think of the H57 chipset like the G41 chipset
