Ok, everyone knows I'm not shy about asking questions and I will say the members at Anandtech have been great in helping my with my PC.

That said, I have posted 2 threads over at AVS, over 150 views and not ONE response...???

Sorry, I don't care if a question has been asked 1000 times, if the person is new and asking something that is new to them, FREAKIN' help them out. And don't say, "use search," half the SEARCH options on sites SUCK!

Anyway, thanks again for you guys being VERY responsive here, even if I ask questions that have been asked before...

I would guess that it doesn't reach the corners of the screen because of the way scaling it handled either by the driver or by the monitor itself.

In Nvidia drives you can choose to scale it, scale it while retaining aspect ratio, default to monitors default, or do not scale (center with black borders if it's smaller than the resolution). Other drivers probably have similar stuff or the screen defaults latter in my Nvidia example (Nvidia defaults to "use the screen's default setting I believe").

AVS forum is an amazing site if you are looking for advice and information on HDTV / Stereo purchases from enthusiasts.

It helped me when I was last looking to buy an HDTV and I was satisfied with the purchase I made after reading all the information there. I even found tons of information on good calibration settings for my set.

I always get deep into the AVSForum site when it comes time to buy a new TV every few years, or maybe a BR player or something.

My only complaint about that site is you need to cut through a lot of super-picky BS from enthusiasts. By that, I mean people who emphatically say "that XYZ TV is horrible and sucks and will actually destroy your eyeballs if you watch it - you need to spend at least $2000 for an 'acceptable' display" yet if 95% of the population looked at those 2 TVs side by side, they'd think they looked EXACTLY the same......

but once you understand that and can apply some filters with your own judgment and experience, you can get a lot of good info over there.....

I guess there are fanboys at every site though. I've just found some of the AVS fanboys to be especially opinionated!

Those "pickiness" helped improve future lines of products. Manufacturers troll that fourm all the time.

God forbid if AVS dicsover defects on your line and you have to recall.
