So, after 20 some years, my dad's kick-ass Carver power amp went out. He's decided to go the AVR route, I think. I have an old Denon 3801 that's still going strong (although when I buy a projector, I'm gonna need HDMI) so I steered him toward the 3311.
I'm just wondering:
a). If anyone has any suggestions? Honestly, this is actually more for his 2.1 MKs he'll have in the living room, but will also be connected to some sort of HTIB in the media room (the guy rarely watches TV or movies). The only real "requirement" is that music sounds clean, and that it'll power multiple zones, as mentioned above.

b). When new models come out, and if we should wait a bit.
