Avoiding viruses

I'm sure it works for you, and most everyone else here on anandtech. But it seems every time there is a big virus outbreak, the media goes through these same tips (albeit in a condensed version). And yet there are still huge virus outbreaks. Some people just dont get it, and they will click on unknown attachments and do other dumb things regardless.

Without some form of networking(whether it be Cisco 13434's internet routers or LAN 10mbps routers) viruses would not get anywhere. 😛
 
lol I stand corrected. Not the big issue these days, but it's still possible as well as other media storage devices (zip jaz tape etc). Especially boot sector viruses, an infected boot disk could affect many computers if used often.
