avoiding a sunburn..

i am gonna be in cali this weekend, and i dont feel like getting sunburnt, but i dont feel like lathering up on sunblock and just staying white. if i put on sunblock will it just tan right away, or will i stay white? how to tan but not burn before? (i am a caucasian who lives in MAINE. i am very white)

if you get some sunblock with a high SPF, it should take longer for your skin to tan...

so i want a low SPF but not so low that it will be like i have nothing on?

lucky that I don't burn.

I just get darker in the sun. Good not having to bother with that sort of thing.

Only because I come from a country that its hot every day and hardly ever rains. All in the genes:D

im from maine and never once burned. and ive been to the tropics more then once. :).
and i dont use sun tan lotion

just use a sun block thats like sps 10-20

I have given up on sun block, just doesn't seem to do me any good. I have used all different spf's and I still burn, kinda strange though, because my skin turns real red, like I have a really bad sun burn before I actually burn.
