Update: Well I finally received a tracking number this morning, I'm crossing my fingers that everything I ordered will be in the shipment.

Here's the review I just posted on reselleratings.com (it's kinda long, but if you're considering shopping with them you might want to read through it).

Here's a link to their forum where you can read the feedback from other scammed customers. EDIT: For some reason they're forum link is not showing up properly, but if you're interested in reading about their customer service go to the site and visit the forum and feedback section.
This is my first time ever writing a store review, but my shopping experience with Meritline has been so terrible that I have to share it. I ordered a few DVD cases and a mp3 player from Meritline back on March 15th, the total came out to just under 150 bucks. 6 days later I was told the product was temporarily out of stock, I did not hear from Meritline again until I called them a week and a half later.

I was told my order would be shipped out on April 2nd, that day came and went and I received no email confirming the tracking number and no update on the order status. I called Meritline on April 3rd and inquired about the order and I was told it would be shipped out that day. April 4th comes around and still no email with a tracking number and no change to the order status on their website. I called again April 5th and 6th, both times I was told the order was in processing and that I should receive an email with a tracking number.

It is now 9:00pm on April 6th, I have no tracking number and no update to my order. I now have to wait until Monday morning to call again (they are closed over the weekend). Needless to say I am very upset and frustrated, I have been jerked around for almost a month by this company and they have offered no apologies or any real concern to make sure my order has been shipped out.

I went out to their website and discovered they have a forum with a feedback section. There in the forum I was alarmed to see that there have been many complaints similar to mine from customers who have not received their products in complete or in some cases like mine receieved nothing at all. I would strongly caution anyone considering making a purchase through this company to try and find the product from a more reputable vendor, you may run the risk of spending and receiving nothing in return.

I also recommend everyone to visit their forum (http://www.******/forumdisplay.php?f=15)and read some of the complaints for yourselves. Do yourself a favor and stay far away from this company.

I ordered 100 slim DVD cases for 18 bucks shipped about a week ago. They arrived today as ordered. I've had no issues with them and would order again. Sounds like if you run into an issue with them though, you will have a bitch to work through. That is true for a lot of online companies.

Sorry to hear that. I've ordered DVD-Rs and a bunch of other related stuff and never had a problem.

I guess you're one of the lucky ones, but apparently getting what you paid for from this company is like playing blackjack. Maybe they'll ship it and maybe they won't.

All I know is if I don't get my order next week I'm going on a friggin campaign against these jerks.

Posts: 100 Meritline has no merit.......

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I placed an order (meritline-1351219) and was told lies about when it would ship. When the order arrived only 1 of 2 items was in the box.

I ordered a 100 pack of CDRs and a 500 pack of paper CD sleeves. The CD sleeves were missing. The box was just big enough for the for the 100 pack of CDRs and the 500 pack of sleeves would not have fit in the box.

Fact is they never shipped the sleeves in the first place and Meritline line is pretending that they did ship them and is calling me a liar.

Well if you don't tell me when I will get the rest of my order I will have to do a chargeback. You've had 4 days to send the rest of my order and I'm getting very impatient with your lousy service.

I will never order from Meritline.com again.

P.S. A forum like this is very unprofessional. Why broadcast to potential customers how lousy your service is with all these complaints? It's crazy!

Posts: 2 Problems with Meritline (Order #1335491)

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

So I placed an order over 3 weeks ago on 3/7/07 for:

* 10 pack double dvd cases
* 100 verbatim dvd+r's
* 100 pack single dvd cases

I received the 10 double dvd cases and the 100 dvd+r's fairly quick, but the 100 single dvd cases STILL haven't arrived. I have sent 3 emails to Meritline. I received a response to my first email (on 3/18) stating they would forward this problem to their shipping department. It's 11 days later, and even with 2 more emails sent I still haven't received a response.

Please help!!! I just want my dvd cases!!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

My purchase on 12/12 with Meritline(I hate even saying the name), somehow got shipped to the wrong address. Their Customer Service told me that, "I might have been Hacked, and an Email from My Email address was received with the change of address request". After hours of being put on hold, hungup-on and Vmails, they found their 3rd Shift mistyped the Purchase # and changed the wrong shipment!!!! I asked to have purchase reshipped Overnight, they said "NO"? The best the could do it 2 day ground, I said fine. When the "Time was right for them" they shipped my order to hopefully the correct address this time. That was 12/19, just confirmed with UPS that it was rescheduled, and won't be on my door step until 12/29. I purchase a Burner, and needed these DISCs by Christmas, looks like that won't happen. I just, wanted everyone to know my experience, so this won't happen to you.

#1: Check to see if they're a member of the BBB
#2. If they are, file a claim. It's been long enough
#3. If they're not, call your credit card company and file a chargeback

Posts: 1 Don't Buy Meritline CD Pen/Markers

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

You sold me dried up, useless markers and would not respond to emails. I have bought media from Meritline numerous times but because you have sold me a defective product and refused to even discuss the issue, I will never shop here again. And before you talk about "proper procedure", it would have cost more in shipping to send back the pens in a trackable manner than they were worth (why should I have to pay for your failure anyway?). You should have done the right thing and offered to replace the pens (I'm certain you're aware your stock of them dries up quickly...at least you should be). It makes me wonder what I would have had to do if I bought a more expensive product from you and it was defective. Small claims court!? Just how much does it cost you to answer a customer's email? I can assure you that not answering costs much more in lost business. Buh-bye meritline. I'll take my business elswhere.

Posts: 1 Avoid Meritline like the plague....

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

On the 16th of September I placed an order for a Tagan 480W power supply listed as in stock and ready to ship (as I write this post it is still listed as in stock and ready to ship). The moment I paid for it I received three emails-one acknowledging the order, one serving as the online receipt, and a third informing me that the item was backordered and would ship in 2-3 days. It annoyed me to no end that they backordered the item without consulting me but it would become evident over the next few days that this sort of behaviour is typical of this unethical merchant. When I called FOUR days later and FINALLY got through to someone, I was told that it had still not shipped and was still on backorder with an ETA of Friday at the latest. I decided to let the order stand. That night I received an email stating that my item had shipped; it also listed a tracking number. Put bluntly, the email was an unadulterated lie-the tracking number was an outright fabrication and UPS confirmed this. So not only have I wasted time and passed the deadline on a rebate that I could have utilized on this product, but I am still without the power supply I need for a client's computer. If I had gone with a reputable merchant like Newegg.com I'm sure I wouldn't have had this problem.
I will be calling Meritline's "customer support" tomorrow to resolve this matter and the upshot of that call will determine whether or not I proceed with my plan to report this company for online fraud and file a complaint with PayPal against them. I won't be wasting my time lodging a grievance with a toothless organization like the BBB. My advice to you is don't waste your time ordering from this company!

Oh, and to the moderators of this forum, don't bother responding with ineffectual remarks about how you "apologize for the inconvenience" and that you will "check with someone in order status or shipping to see what the problem is". I don't want excuses or pointless explanations, I want the damn box in my hands or the money back in my PayPal account-NOW!!

This is a copy of the email I sent to Fiona at Meritline today. I've been trying for a month to get them to resolve the problem they created by sending me the wrong discs. I'm looking someplace else from now on.

Fiona,
I am done dealing with Mertline! You simply have dropped the ball here and I will no longer make purchases from you. You didn't send me what I ordered and then when I asked you to rectify this, you did absolutely nothing. I'm not a big customer of yours; I make three or four purchases a year. But, from now on, I'll be making those purchases elsewhere and I'll no longer recommend Meritline to my friend.

Sincerely,
Charles A. Knower

Dear Caroline,
Thank you for your concern. However today I recieved two emails from meritline one stating that my order has been processed and shipped and it includes a tracking link to UPS that gives an invalid tracking number, while the second email states that my order has been cancelled because the ordered item has been sold out. Can you please give an explanation on this confusing matter and give me the actual status of my order. Thank you again.

Contacting the BBB is a waste of time. If you are serious contact your state's AG

I never fvck around with dealing/arguing with etailers. Give them a chance to rectify the situation then just contact your CC company. AMEX always seems to have fantastic customer service.

Blowing off steam doesn't have to involve bumping your thread every 30 seconds. You had a bad experience. We get it. Unless someone is falsely doctoring the ratings at resellerratings over the past 6 months, and from my own personal experiences, they're still a good company.

thanks for the suggestions, I'll definitely do both.

Someone needs to expose these clowns, apparently they've been doing shoddy business like this for at least 2-3 years now.

Move on then, if you don't care for the way I post you have the freedom to read another post. Besides who the flock are you to tell me the way I should blow off steam when I'm mad.

There's a reseller rating site for all your replies, please do it there. Please may I point you in the direction of every online store? No online company is perfect, all of them have had their messed up orders and what not. Ive had over 30 orders there over the past 3 months, not a single problem. Not every online store is perfect, head over to newegg and go read some of their reviews sometime.

BS. IF the company is not a member of the BBB, then yes, it's useless, which is why I asked him to check if they are first. If the company is a member, you will get some kind of results. Companies pay money to be a member of the BBB, they take it seriously. I have never failed to get somewhere by going that route if I'm getting screwed.

You can take this information I've posted and make use of it or not. I'm sure some of you out there would appreciate knowing about the type of service to expect from an online vendor before spending money there. If you have a problem with this post, that's on you.

My only complaint against Meritline is their shipping charges. I am just a few miles away and they charge me like I'm in Maine.

I discovered that Fry's stocks lots of the Meritline stuff that I buy. That's good.
