I do a fair amount of rebates and have only run into problems with MAD DOG. I keep copies of everything so I'm well prepared just in case.

* 1st they said I didn't send a copy of the upc code, I offered to fax it, they said they don't have a fax machine, I must mail it, I did.

*2nd, a month later they said I didn't send them the receipt, again no fax, so I sent it.

*3rd time they said they got all the info but I didn't qualify for the full refund. I had copies of the rebate form which said I did. They couldn't answer why I didn't qualify, just that I didn't.

*4 I talk to a supervisor who assures me that he will forward this to the "urgent matters dept." and I'll get a notice in 2 weeks.

*5 3 weeks go by and no notice, I call back and was told I'll get my $85 in rebares with 2 weeks.

*6 3 weeks later,no check, I call again and was told I didn't qualify for the rebate.

*7 I call the Compusa store, fax everything to them, they call on my behalf and was told I do qualify and will get the full amount in 2 weeks.

*8 4 weeks later still no check, I call Compusa again, they call again for me and were told 2 weeks I'll get paid.

*9 Compusa decides to do the right thing and said I've gone through enough with these people and paid me cash for the rebates.

I've never had such a experience with a rebate where the entire intent was to frustrate the customer so much that he just goes away. Didn't work with me but I imagine many give up. Even when I contacted MAD DOG corporate, they just said we don't handle rebates, it up to the company's we contract, we won't contact them for you. Thanks Compusa and I'll never buy a MAD DOG product again

It's common knowledge that mad dog rebates are extraordinarily slow and unreliable. This isn't a hot deal.

So you didnt include a upc or a receipt with your rebate? OMG.....

I agree with him Mad Dog is the worst rebates yet. Its such a scam they pull. Class action suit all the way.

There should be a sticky with a voting system to keep count of how many get screwed by what vendors. MadDog would win I believe.

Better to just buy a Enermax from newegg and forget the rebate frustration.
