AVOID Gameforrent.com for Game Rentals

I STRONGLY advise AGAINST using them. From NJ to PA, the ship times have been in the 4-5 day range. I get better turn around time from Gamefly even though they're located in California.

Secondly, gamesforrent has TERRIBLE customer service. When I quit before my free trial ended, they charged $100 to my credit card. When I called them up, they told me that they would refund $80, but would not refund $20 since I returned the games after the trial ended. This is pretty lame because they shipped the games out to me about 2 days before my trial ended. When I asked why they didn't allow for turnaround time, they said "You need to have ALL the games back BEFORE the trial ends. The 7 day return listed on the website is only for PAID members who quit." This means your real game trial period is really about a week long if you consider how long it takes them to ship and how long it takes for them to get the games back. Trying to get a second set of trials is putting you most certainly at the risk of being charged the $20 "late" return fee.

Because of this, I think everyone should rent from a company who doesn't try to gouge customers looking to test a service out. I've been happy with Gamefly and would choose them over gameforrent anyday.

Christ dude, tell them that they can either refund the full amount or you will dispute the full amount and let them deal with the CC company.

Thanks for the heads up. I've never really considered ordering video game rentals online, but its good to know what retailers to avoid in case i give it a shot.

I did tell them that I would contest the charge. Their response was, "Go right ahead. We've had this happen before and we always win." Bastards! I'll still contest it because I think it's a low down policy of theirs to penalize people who want to try their service and decide to cancel after the free trial.
