Avira free 2014

Hello.
I've installed avira free 2014 from its site, and this is the new method instalation I think, they use something like Avira O... Essential, when I download its size only 4.5mb, I think this is online installer, then I accept and install, after 10 second, it complete, and there is a "I think Avira O... Essential" on system tray, by the way there are add protection button, manage device button on it, with an image in the center of this Avira O.. Essential, my problem is isn't Avira size is 135mb+, why this avira only 11 mb, and before I install this "new" Avira, I've installed it into my friends computer, and in the Avira O.... Essential there is a button "Install product" or something like that, why I don't have such button? and when I click the image, or add protection, nothing happens. Please, help me, I've decided to uninstall my "old" Avira to this "new" Avira, but I get nothing. Sorry bad english
 
Avira has SUCKED! big time. And in order to uninstall you have to use safe mode and their registry cleaner. I ditched long ago after the ASK toolbar crap.

Truth be told anti-virus software isn't very capable anymore. I would use BitDefender Free and run your browser in Sandboxie.
 
Download and install the Avira Manager. (The 4.4MB thing on their site.)
After it installs open the manager from it's taskbar icon by click right-clicking and selecting open avira.

It should open up with a red/dark gray popup screen and now you need to click the additional options menu (the three lines button.)

Now click on antivirus, it will open up a browser window asking to install the anti virus and give you the option to register.

Click install antivirus (but from what it seems registering is optional.)

Now in the manager it will list downloading anti virus 137.5MB or something close to it.

If you already have an old Avira installed, you probably just need an update and it could be as easy as clicking the Avira menus.
The filehippo link gives the full offline installer but you have to make sure to decline installing the ask toolbar. I think Avira will ask again after the first reboot to install adware.
 
I wouldn't trust an Antivirus that bundles crapware into their installation (ask toolbar) even if you paid me to use it!
