Recent changes in nomenclature for the Liquid product are a result of the acquisition of Pinnacle systems by Avid. Before the acquisition the latest and greatest version of Liquid was 6.1. The name of this product is Pinnacle Liquid Pro 6.1. Version 7.0 of the product was released after the acquisition of Pinnacle by Avid. The product now bears the Avid name, i.e. Avid Liquid Pro 7.0. My understanding is that the same design team created both products and that all of the features presently incorporated into the 7.0 version of the product were in the development queue before the acquisition.

Awesome, thanks for the info. I was just getting confused and thought maybe Liquid was a common name for editing suites or something and I had missed out on that with FCP and Premiere.
