Not sure if anyone can answer this question. Wife is working at a tv station with a machine called the abacus. They are trying to transfer a font or look from the avid to the abacus and it is not tranfering correctly. The station lost the manual and the company is no more I was told. They create some of the things using photoshop then into the avid and then to the abacus. If anybody has any clue what I am talking about please help.

It sounds like abacus and avid are maker of the programs. Anyway, since you use photoshop, see if photoshop can load the item in question. If so, you might tell her to try and rework the look in photoshop then export back to abacus.

The only avid stuff that I know of that relates to TV work is either Avid Cenema or that the professional version. By the way, is this Mac or PC?

They are both machines. The abekas is a digital character generator. They
create something on a mac using photoshop then load it into the avid cause they lost the manual for the abekas they cant go directly. Anyway the font or graphic is perfect going into the avid but when it gets to the abekas it distorts for some reason. The pixelization is all wrong. They have tried to save it as different extension but once it hits the abekas it freaks out. Ever hear of a machine called the chyron? Thats what she works on mostly. Anyway thanks for any input.
