I was trying to watch a video earlier today, and the AVI video was just all messed up. I tried to grab a screenshot of it, but for some reason, it didn't want to register on a simple print screens creen capture.

I'm almost entirely sure that this must have started to happen whenever I grabbed the "TweaksRus" 77.62 drivers, running the video without any drivers installed seems to work fine, but running them with the nvidia 77.62 still shows the errors.

Its very weird, alost like the gamma is set too high and then the color is downgraded to 256, lots of extremes with little inbetween.

I know its not the codec - i reinstalled the K-lite codec pack (1.33) and it had no affect. Nor does the program I use to run the video. (Tried WMP10, WMP-classic, Divx, etc.)

any ideas? I want to watch shows again.
(Note: this also affects other file formats with AVI video - .ogm and .mkv)

see if it happens with the video mixing renderer. it's in the tools, options, performance tab of windows media player (Use High Quality Mode), and in the options of media player classic (view, options, playback, output, select VMR9). using VMR also permits screenshot capturing. overlays cannot be captured.

Go to your nVIDIA control panel under Display -> Advanced and select the "Color Correction" menu choice. Select "Overlay" from the drop-down, and change the color profile from "Standard Mode" to "Advanced Mode." It should change the color gamut to a normal curve, and your videos should display correctly. For some reason, the latest drivers had a screwy Standard Mode color profile.

Hope that helps.
