I've never had this problem before but what is happening is whenever I open a program to convert an AVI to DVD format I am receiving this error.

"Access violation at address 00000000. Read of address 00000000."

I'm using Windows XP SP2

Latest Divx and DirectX are installed.

It's not just one conversion software either. I've tried three now. Not sure what the problems.

Any help?

Looks like your .avi file still has some locks in it (solved with Rip-It-4-Me + DVD Decrypter + FixVTS)

If you can recommend any avi to dvd converters I'd like to hear about that.

I've been using WinAVI Converter for about 2 yrs, but have a lot of trouble with audio and video going out of synch.

Past couple of months I've also been trying the free DVD Flick as another alternative. The free DVD Flick seems to give fewer audio - video synch errors than the $30 WinAVI Converter.

I also have the Nero Vision Express, but don't use it for conversions because it's so terribly slow. For burning disks I usually use Nero BurningROM 6.6.

Thank you.
First I've ever hears of AVI2Dvd. I'll give it a try.
Its "snapshot" feature for making chapter illustrations is nice.
