Recently i got this ripped video off the inet, when i try to play it with wmv it opens plays 1 sec oof video and then goes to the error reporting, so i turned off error report completeltly and totally changed the regestry so i wouldnt have that problem. now when i open the avi and now wmv just shut down all to gether, i have proper codec paks. what should i do? iits not my system either i have a xp pro with 3 ghz and 1mb ram
 
i had the same problem. Uninstalling Xvid Codec corrected the problem. If ur Xvid avi don't play anymore, install ffdshow.
