Avi file plays but without sound...

Not sure if this is the right section since the video section is about video products, so sorry if it isnt!

I have downloaded an .avi file and it plays but without sound. I have tried it in both Quicktime and DivX player, and have the DivX codec installed. There is no clue in the file name or where I downloaded it from as to what kind of codec it may need.

Does anyone know what I can do, or is it more likely that the video just has no sound (which in this case would be silly).

Might need xvid or ac3. If you're not sure which codecs to use, download a program called gspot which will tell you what codec it uses.
