Avi/Codec Problem

I have some anime and the first half of the files work fine but the second half doesn't play sound. The first half just starts up with Windows Media Player but when WMP starts up on any of the second half of the videos it searches for a codec and then starts playing without sound. Can anyone give me any ideas what might be going on. BTW I have divx 5.
 
I don't understand... you mean that it plays for a while and all of a sudden it's asking or searching for a codec ???

If you have divx 5 is it the pro version ?
