Having a few issues with my AVG antivirus and commodo fire wall setup.
Avg zen is also installed, although i do not use it but you cannot seem to avoid it.
I am running win7 (for as long as they will let me) and every day or so, not at a regular time i get a commodo HIPS warning:
'avgsvca.exe is trying to execute avgsetupx.exe'
which i allow as a valid program or installer/updater. The PC then seeems to go off into download land and either partialy freezes or completely locks up but may recover if left for hours or if I do a few forced/hard resets. While this is all going on the avg icon in the bottom RH tray dissappears. Some times it seems to sort itself out, sometimes i just backup my data and emails and then restore my last clean updated image of Win7 with clonezilla.
If I just ignore the warning and reboot the system nothing seems to happen and the problem goes away for a day or so.
I am no expert on this type of thing, anyone got any ideasas to what is going on as its a pain?
