AVG only detects 300-400 viruses? Huh?

I cannot recall where it was, but on some forum the other night (maybe amdmb.com) I noticed that someone posted that AVG Anti-Virus program only detects 300-400 viruses or something like that?

I thought this sucker was close to keeping up with NAV and the rest? Maybe not?

I quickly scanned AVG's website and did not come up with an answer.

Anyone already knew this, or heard?

I have not heard of AVG, but a static Anti-Virus program would make little sense. Does it ever prompt you to download updates?

Yah, lots of updates, which I have selected to do manually.
