Say I keep it on AC power about 75% of the time I've had it. The rest are times where I run the battery near 0% power (heard this was the best method) before recharging again.

What's the lifespan of a laptop battery ? Is it about 2 years ?

Also, is it best to keep it on AC power (only seems logical) as much as possible ?

Some notebooks cut off the charge to the battery at say 100%. Others do not.
It is alwasy recomended to unplug the battery if using mains power for long periods.
Li-ion batterys say last 400-600 charges before battery starts to degrade.
But the best method to keep ya battery in tip top shape is to always discharge fully before recharging.

Are you saying to remove my battery from the laptop when on AC power ? I thought it "passed through" the battery for AC power ???

Yep remover the battery. Unles your power passes through the battery which seems strange.
Have you knoticed that most the lappys at the local computer store on display have their batterys removed?.
One to save the battery. (Memory effect)
Two to save the battery from being stollen.
