AVG Free 2013 - any feedback?

Anybody using the newest free version of AVG?

Do you find it to be effective?

And also, how much does antivirus software affect system performance on modern computers? (i5 2500k)

I haven't tried that version but as for your 2nd question, it should not really affect performance at all. I use a pretty old PC sometimes and even on that one it is not really affected.

I am using AVG 2013 Free and have not noticed any slowdown compared to Microsoft Security Essentials. However AVG was much faster at doing scans which was the only thing i noticed compared to MSE but this was a positive
