Avg. antivirus help, please

I downloaded Avg. antivirus software program several weeks ago. I've been waiting for my serial number via e-mail to allow me to activate the program. I'm getting a little impatient. Does anyone know if it is possible to use this program without the serial number?
How long did it take you to get the serial number by e-mail? Any suggestions would be appreciated.

i got mine immediately when i had downloaded it around a year back. dont know why ur facing a delay. hope u get it soon. sure is a great antivirus!

Lioness you tried downloading the free version again,I did for my 2nd PC it lets you do that as long as you fill in your details again,here`s the link . You should get your serial no. within hours ,I did.

I downloaded the AVG again and received the serial number via e-mail before the program finished downloading" Hmmm...I wondered what happened to my first AVG download serial number.
