AVG antivirus (free edition) works on Vista

I had difficulty getting AVG free antivirus to properly run on Vista. It would complain about not being able to start Resident Shield.

I noticed today that there was a new version of AVG available on their web site. I downloaded it and sure enough worked.

I am sorry if this is already known. I searched and did not find anything related.
 
The free version purposely wasn't supposed to support 64-bit OS's, must have changed their minds with the 7.5 release.

Vists is also 32-bit.
