I cant get the damn Drivers to install!!
Everthing seems to go fine and shows in device manager but when I go to install the tuner program it says there are no drivers installed and that I need to install them first.I tried and tried,removing the device from device manager,rebooting then reinstalling the drivers but windows now auto detects the card and installs the drivers on its own(without using the CD).
IS THERE A WAY TO DELETE the drivers out of windows so that I have to use the CD to reinstall them?
I have been working on this for over FIVE HOURS and I am getting no where!!!
I have changed PCI slots,rebooted a hundred times,removed the devices(tv tuner Video,Audio,video capture,Audio Capture) from the devise Manager,rebooted some more...........Still nothing!
I have windows 98 SE,1200Mhz athlon,Dainward (nividia) 64 mb AGP,soundblaster live XGAmer.
I am trying to install the AVERMEDIA TV98 STEREO PCI Tv tuner card W/ personal video recorder.
SOME ONE PLEASE HELP ME,Im almost in tears here!

I've had no problems getting card to work in Win98, WinME and WinXP.
But, there seems to be 2 steps. I can't recall exact procedures, but the following should be close.
First step is getting the card setup and seen by windows, then comes driver/software install.
To remove, uninstall what you already did, delete folders and files, and also check in the Windows/INF/Other folder.
To install, after rebooting, do NOT let windows try to install. Hit cancel if it detects, or let it search and find nothing. (try both?).
Then run the setup from the Avermedia CD. If all goes correct it will say "correct card type found, reboot" or similar.
After rebooting, continue setup. You may have to browse through the Avermedia CD to a folder called Disk 1?

I cant find the windows INF/other folder?
Thanks for the help,maybe I CAN get this going.I didnt let windows detect it the very first time I turned the system on after putting the card in.But now it does it automatically when i try to remove it from device manager.It wont let me intervene.Or stop it.
I never got to gettting the software installed,it just wont let me.A window pops up and says "no drivers installed for this device,install drivers first".But I did what I was supposed to to install the drivers.
I did get a message when installing the drivers saying windows could not install the drivers for this device device(yes it said device twice).
After I moved it to a different PCI slot I did get a message saying "congrats compatable video/sound device found",or something to that matter.
But its still a no go on the driver install or software.
Edit: I went into the AverMedia Cd and installed the Tv software using Folder 1,like you said.But when I run the Tv program i get a message saying this program has performed an illegal .........ARG!!!!!!:|:Q
