Averatec is an excellent value-line brand. While the quality is great for the
price, don't expect Thinkpad built quality for Averatec price

My buddy bought an Athlon XP-M one for like $800 AR and it works well for his uses. Light, 12" screen, decent performance. It runs VERY hot and the found is quite loud compared to most laptops, but for $800 you gonna complain? Check out
this thread, there are some interesting solutions to the Averatec heat issues.
Averatec supposedly recently came out with a Centrino model and they are listed as one of the companies to come out with Turion Mobile Technology; I would wait and see what Turion has to bring to the table!
P.S. Given you are a diamond member, wouldn't you know to just make ONE thread and ask for help with what you need in a laptop instead of starting multiple threads?

Ask away!!
