Damm accounting at $40K to start.....should have made use of my accouting degree.
Now I'm stuck @ McDonalds.

From the article, it appears that a bachelor's in some sort of liberal arts is worth something. I don't see a big zero next to any of them. :)

Those salaries are only good if you can find a job and get hired. I know waiters working in mid-class restaurants who make $50,000+. College degrees are highly overrated.

Why are you stuck, pursue other jobs! I thought they were treating you like crap?

as if we needed any more proof that liberal arts degrees are worthless. :)

That's assuming you can get hired in the first place.

I have an EE degree and I'm doing a job an HS kid could do.

Maybe for making money, but I'd really like to see someone with no college degree do computer engineering. I'm not bitter enough to pick my path based on how much money I'll make.

They're really not that overrated. For every person you know without a college degree making $50k+, you probably know ten people without college degrees that make much much less.

According to that logic, if you major in marketing, you'll make $34K/year. Darn, I feel sorry for those marketing people coming out of Harvard. They should have settled for Devry!

I'd guess that most people want more out of their professional life. Being a waiter isn't exactly an intellectually fulfilling job.

How dare you say that! My uncle's friend's brother's sister in law's 2nd cousin from the mother's side is a waiter, and he says that the job is very intellectually challenging. I bet you couldn't do that job.

Yeah, but I'm still getting paid $43K/yr.
Trying to build up my assets before pursueing other options.
I would love to go back to accouting right now.
I was a fool.
My sister is an accoutant/auditor for the gov. and she makes close to $100K.
Make me sick.

Not in this day and age. Every company is trying to lowball you (assuming you can find a job in the first place) in the current market. So take whatever is listed on there and deduct $10k, that will be your offer.

You're right, I couldn't. I guess what constitutes an intellectual challenge is relative to the intellect? My friend's mom's friend's friend's daughter's son makes great tips though.

Unfortunately Harvard doesn't have an undergraduate marketing degree.

I suppose this is assume most people go to college to get jobs, and only to get jobs? Why doesn't everyone go to Devry, then? :)
