Average Salary of a Consultant?

I'm sure many people on this board with a tech or business background have interviewed with a consulting firm withing the past several months. With the economy in a slump, what would be a rough estimate for a starting salary of an entry-level consultant (within 18 months of college graduation)?

i.e Accenture, IBM Business Consulting Services, Deloitte & Touche Consulting, Booz Allen Hamilton, etc.

Depends on your region and demand and economy and other factors, skill set etc...... My guess would be 30ish to start entry level...

In general, areas such as New York and California have a $10-$15K higher starting salary due to the cost of living. I'm from the D.C. metro area and wanted to know the range of starting salaries for consulting firms.

I've that heard Accenture has recently offered offered $36K, which even for this market is at the low end. I just wanted to get a feel for what consulting companies are intially offering for entry-level positions.
