I was able to hit 4.16GHz on my 780i board (462x9). Unfortunately, I can't get past 1850MHz (QDR) on this board so I can't find out if it clocks higher. Idles at 44C @ 1.41v and with Prime95 it hits 56C at load.

I've seen people clock in at 4.2GHz and higher I guess I am just not that lucky :)

Edit: I guess I forgot to ask, what are other people getting with their E8400/E3110s?

that is a pretty good oc, i wouldnt be disappointed with it, you have some good load temps too, so you might be able to push it a little further, but that might require a good bit of extra volts (point of diminishing returns) which may or may not prematurely destroy the cpu.

right beyond that 4.1~4.2 range it will require more vcore (usually) and load temps will start to rise quickly

I run my E8400 at 3.9Ghz with 1.30v. The highest I've gone is 4.0Ghz at 1.33-1.34v.

3.9Ghz is plenty fast enough for me. :)

Thanks guys. Now that I found the extent of my FSB hole (ranged from 1850 to 1925) I can see the upper limits of this chip.

I have mine at 3.6 and it seems plenty fast to me too. not too confident in running it much higher.

much better performance over my old opteron 175 anyway.

Impressive. What voltage is needed for 4.4Ghz?

1.51v The vdroop is terrible on this board as you go higher up. Load temp is about 56-58C according to CoreTemp. Nvidia nTune was showing me something much higher so I disregarded that, check my other post about the temp discrepancy and you'll see.

That's a really good oc with that voltage! Did you encounter huge FSB holes with your board?

4.16 at 56c load is good, Are you sure about that? You have a little room if thats correct.
Go for it.
Mine at 4.15 is up to 69c under load.................

4.4GHz is as high as I'll go. anything higher and I need to start going into the 1.55v area and I don't think it's worth it.

My initial temps were wrong since I used nTune and it reported higher incorrect temps compared to CoreTemp. At 4.4 CoreTemp is showing me 56-58C. This is with an Antec900 case that sounds like a vacuum cleaner.

My E8400 is sitting at 3.91 at around 1.38v. This is stable with Orthos Blend for an undetermined amount of time. Chip runs pretty cool. For whatever reason I really need to bump the voltage to get stable under load for each 5 FSB I add.

I can run 4.0Ghz, but the extra voltage just isn't worth it now. After the chip gets broken in and I can run it a little faster, then maybe I will.

Not so far, but I did big jumps, such as 400, 425, 445 FSB. All with the same voltages. I haven't tried to go any higher yet. I decided to stay at 3.375(375FSB) for every day use with voltage at 1.116 and NB at 1.3.

I have overclocked it to 4.1 but I don't like keeping it that high.

3.6ghz is a nice sweet spot for me in terms of heat and voltage.

I think most people prefer their running 3.6G to keep the temp/volt low.
I run mine at 4G (1.385V, 40C idle/65C load) since I don't plan on keeping it longer than 3yrs.

running mine at 3.8 now. I was at 3.6 for a while now 3.8 and very stable. I could not get 4.0 stable enough at 1.4v so i am not going to try. It booted and ran fine and crashed in 3dmark.

Got mine to 3.8 GHz with ease on a P5B-E on 1.288V. Didn't feel like going any higher on the voltage, but I'm pretty sure I could have easily pushed into the 4's with more voltage.

Got mine to 4.0 stable 1.4 volts, system would not restart or shut down all the way, backed it down to 3.8 at 1.3 volts.

someone care to tell him what my wolfdale died at? :T

give ya a clue.. its very close to that voltage you just listed. So i definitely recomend you bring that voltage down. 1.45V should be upper most limit, and you should have a fairly good sink with it.
