Avenue Q on Broadway?

My GF has been wanting to see this for a while, and as we're planning a roadtrip weekend this weekend... NY seems a good option, where we could see Avenue Q. HOWEVER.... tickets are sold out, and the ticket bastards(scalpers) online are listing tickets at around $230 EACH!?!?!

Anyone know of better ways to get tickets? And furthermore is this show as good as I hear it is?

Yes, the show is absolutely HILARIOUS. One of the funniest things I've ever seen. Sorry, no advice on tickets...I got mine direct.

You could try TKTS. They have shops all over the city, with tickets at great prices. The catch is, tickets are for the same day, and usually aren't the best seats in the house. They go on sale at 2:00 (I think), so you'll probably need to be in line and waiting by 11:00am.

or if you're feeling lucky, go to the ticket booth and see if they have anything available, i think 20 minutes or 2 hours before they show they release some tix to the public

I don't know if TKTS has tickets, but if they do, you'd better try an off-day or get in line early.

My friend, elitebull on here, saw the show when he was interning in NYC....absolutely loved it. I originally wanted to get tickets for it, but they were out, so I saw Wonderful Town...also a great show.

Yes, it's AWESOME! One of the funniest and amazing things I've ever seen. Go there two hours before the show and they have a lottery for rush tickets. You just write your name down, indicate if you want one or two tickets and 20 minutes later they draw names. We scored a pair - front row, for 20 bucks each.

Yeah, my friend did that for Avenue Q.

Drawing starts at 5 or 6PM. I forgot.

What are the odds of scoring the tix?... are we talking like 50/50 or are we talking like 1 in 100?
