Spybot S&D just started sounding off about Avenue A. spyware when moving around threads in the forums.

Would appreciate it if spyware was not something that had to be dodged here.

Thank you.

Avenue A. is an ad firm that uses nasty little tracker cookies. not a lot to "worry" about in terms of system security, but definatly a good idea to block those types of cookies. I also suggest you get Cookie Wall from analogX in addition to spybot to defend yourself agenst tracking cookies aswell.

I thought at first this was coming from this forum, but now not so sure as it appears on ANY site I go to. I wouldn't think AT would condone this type of advertising where system security and privacy are held with such high regards with fellow forum members.

Could mods confirm please??

If you use any version of Netscape, just make the file, COOKIES.TXT a zero byte read only file. :)

A very good idea, but its kinda missing the point. Seems like someone deleted the spyware though as I'm not getting it now (Thursday night).
