I just wanted to say that my Spyware frequently detects the Avenue A spyware attempting to download from Anandtech. I have to say that I am slightly dissapointed by this because I thought better of AT. Oh well, as long as I can block it i'll keep coming here.

BTW, this dosent happen in the forum, just browing the articles and news.

Maybe someone can do something about this...

AnandTech DOES NOT use any spyware software, ALTHOUGH we cannot speak for ads that come from networks that we do not control.

Thank you.

BS. The ad server is downloading a cookie for avenuea so they can track unique vistors and, yes, customize the ads displayed. Say it aloud with me; COOKIES ARE NOT SPYWARE. Your dissapointed because the software your running isn't differentiating between these cookies and true spyware (e.g. code downloaded and ran on your system monitoring your behaviour). You can get more details here. You can get an opt out cookie here.

You know Zuni, a Security forum would be PERFECT for discussing these issues ;)
